Resources for Choral Singers and Soloists
Hear My Prayer (Hör' mein Bitten) is an anthem for soprano solo, chorus (SATB) and organ or orchestra composed by Felix Mendelssohn in Germany in 1844. The second part of "Hear My Prayer" contains the very popular solo and choral piece often sung independently "O for the Wings of a Dove" ("O könnt' ich fliegen").
The work was originally written for organ accompaniment, and later Mendelssohn included an orchestral version. It is more usually performed in English or German.
While Note Perfect provides individual recordings suitable for both English and German libretto, there is no difference in the notes; the differences being that a few notes are split or joined depending on the requirement of the language. It is entirely possible to use either version for the other language without problem.
Note perfect supplies 4 versions.
