Resources for Choral Singers and Soloists
Vesperae solennes de confessore, was composed in 1780. It is scored for SATB choir, SATB soloists, and orchestra.
It was composed for liturgical use in the Salzburg Cathedral. The title "de confessore" is not Mozart's own, and was added later to his manuscript. It suggests that the work was intended for vespers held on a specific day on the liturgical calendar of saints ("confessors"); This was Mozart's final choral work composed for the cathedral.
This is one of our earliest training aids and is geared mainly for choirs, however the complete work is instrumentally included for any voice part ordered.
