Beethoven's Missa Solemnis is set for SATB Choir and Soloists.
We have provided all the choral parts for Soprano, Alto, Tenor and Bass Choir and Soloists.
The training choir aids have an orchestral style accompaniment with the voice part highlighted with piano with the orchestral accompaniment.
The soloists parts are played on wind instruments with the orchestral accompaniment.
The movements in this work are:
Kyrie Eleison
Gloria in excelsis Deo
Credo
Sanctus and Benedictus
Agnus Dei
It should be noted that the score clearly
shows SOLI for the entire Sanctus and has chorus entry at Benedictus
(bar 114 for basses and later for all four parts.) However some
conductors choose that the choir enters at bar 34 (Pleni sunt coeli) or
bar 53 (Osana). Our choir recording anticipates this and has provided them and
marked them as "optional." For our Accompaniment CD's we have correctly provided the parts for soloist as Beethoven intended.
